Celebrate animals and learning at this annual event. Different animals are featured every hour in the Eye to Eye Theater, and children can also enjoy arts and crafts, live animals, puppet shows, and more.

Blessing of the Animals

This event goes back many centuries and it is a time to focus on the many benefits they provide mankind. There will be a procession on Olvera Street led by the Archbishop of Los Angeles. All pets welcome!

Easter Egg Hunt

Hunt for eggs, play traditional games, meet a blacksmith, tour the historic adobe, enjoy old-time music and meet performers in period costume. Please bring your own baskets.

Stop by Biskit Saddle Arts and learn about leatherworking or let your children hear authors as they read form their award winning children's books during Buckaroo Story Time.

Arbor Day Earth Festival

Celebrate Earth Day with many fun activities including a composting workshop, mobile learning labs, animal shows, live entertainment and a bike rodeo. New this year is a performance with musical instruments made from recycled materials (the audience is included in all parts!).

Santa Monica Mountains Science Festival

Experience a fun day of family science fun. Hands-on activities. Learn how to track mountain lions and bobcats. Bring a picnic lunch and stay for the afternoon. Sponsored by the National Park Service and the LA Natural History Museum.

Close Encounters: Textures of You: The Art of Frottage

View the exhibition Apparitions: Frottages and Rubbings from 1860 to Now. Then, explore the art technique known as frottage by creating your own life-size portrait using found objects such as coins, wood, or leaves. This family workshop is led by the artist Ruben Ochoa, whose work is on view in this exhibit.
