The Velveteen Rabbit

While it may be the most modest toy in the nursery, the Velveteen Rabbit earns the love of a young child and learns about the joys and pain of becoming "real." This is a musical about love, loss and self-esteem.

Hector the Collector

Enjoy a special reading by of the story Hector the Collector by the author, Emily Beeny. Hector the dog loves to collect acorns but his classmates make fun of him. Eventually, they learn that all collections are special. Make a drawing in response to the story.

Painted in Mexico

Check out the paintings in the exhibition Painted in Mexico, 1700–1790: Pinxit Mexici. Look for la Virgen de Guadalupe, angels, other religious figures painted in a uniquely Mexican style. Make your own art inspired by the exhibit.

This annual festival features whale-related crafts, a wildlife observation station, a Whale of a Tale story time (Saturday only) and a shark feeding and presentation (Sunday only).
