An island tradition filled with children on bikes, island dogs,

decorated golf carts and floats, drill teams,

marching bands and more. There will be activities for kids after the parade. The bridge closes at 10 am so get there early.

Santa Monica Pier Paddleboard Race and Ocean Festival

With proceeds benefiting Heal the Bay, enjoy watching the races, live music and hula dancers. Children ages 8 and older may register for competitions such as an ocean swim, a surfboard race, sprint and distance runs and more. There are also non-competitive activities including limbo and water games.

Down to Earth, Buggy Petting Zoo

After exploring the new exhibit Earth Matters, visitors can learn about and even touch creatures that crawl and slither across the earth. Then, there is a craft making workshop where kids can make their own spider pins out of recycled materials. Reptacular Animals will also be there to share kid-friendly tarantulas, scorpions, millipedes, crickets, and centipedes.

Sword fights, cannon and musket battles, a treasure hunt, adult and children's costume contest, an interactive kid's zone, live and dj entertainment, a living history encampment, a live production of "Treasure Island" and the first Mermaid Olympics with 50 mermaids in Long Beach's new Olympic pools.
