Celebrate Southern California's artisanal bread renaissance with special menu items and bread-centric workshops and demos. Learn how to make sourdough bread, pita bread and biscuits. Santa Monica Coast Festival

Celebrate the opening of the Expo line with a festival on streets closed to auto traffic. Family activities include music, Samba dancers, cardio dance blast, zumba and interactive Coast Zones celebrating culture, sustainability and mobility.

Balboa Island Parade: 100 Years of Sun and Fun

An island tradition filled with children on bikes, island dogs,

decorated golf carts and floats, drill teams,

marching bands and more. There will be activities for kids after the parade. The bridge closes at 10 am so get there early.

Family Day of Performance

Get Your Style On

Study the fashions worn by pachucos and pachucas in José Montoya’s drawings. Then, design your own flashy accessories as you learn to make paper hats and flowers. At 3 pm, enjoy a lively performance with Pachuco José.

Santa Monica Pier Paddleboard Race and Ocean Festival

With proceeds benefiting Heal the Bay, enjoy watching the races, live music and hula dancers. Children ages 8 and older may register for competitions such as an ocean swim, a surfboard race, sprint and distance runs and more. There are also non-competitive activities including limbo and water games.

Palos Verdes Street Fair and Music Festival

This event features 200 exhibitors that include arts and crafts booths, a dog show, food competitions, a free petting zoo, a carnival, free pony rides and live entertainment on two stages.

Balboa Strawberry Festival

Los Angeles County Irish Fair & Celtic Music Festival

Pasadena Chalk Festival

Watch hundreds of artists spend two days on their hands and knees creating spectacular chalk murals on concrete areas in every style imaginable. Families share the day with each other as children create complimentary Father’s Day cards in KID’S CHALKLAND, and have their faces painted.

Explore the detailed designs of leaves and animals carved centuries ago in the stone sculptures in the Asian art collection. Discuss the patterns that you find and then etch your own motif using a sandstone rock board and a wooden stylus.
