See, hear and read from a huge collection of Los Angeles-based authors and publishers. There will be a family pavilion of performances and activities and author readings in many languages.

Rocket Launch

This contest will be epic! Build your own rocket from a 2-liter plastic soda bottle at home or on-site (you will need to bring your own bottle).

Then, design and attach a parachute. The rocket with the longest “hang time” in the air wins!

Families are asked to bring their own chairs and sunscreen (no pop-ups or large umbrellas please). Registration is suggested!

Museums of the Arroyo Day

Tour six history-based museums in Los Angeles and Pasadena that celebrate a diverse mix of art, architecture and culture of the Arroyo Seco area. Special exhibits and activities for children are all included.

California Strawberry Festival

Santa Monica Mountains Science Festival

Experience a fun day of family science fun. Hands-on activities. Learn how to track mountain lions and bobcats. Bring a picnic lunch and stay for the afternoon. Sponsored by the National Park Service and the LA Natural History Museum.
