Learn about conservation of our planet through fun, informative activities and presentations. There will be an acrobat show and a puppet show on the weekends.

Start by identifying various kinds of birds in the Museum’s collections. Admire these birds and make a mixed-media nest to bring home.

Rocket Launch

This contest will be epic! Build your own rocket from a 2-liter plastic soda bottle at home or on-site (you will need to bring your own bottle).

Then, design and attach a parachute. The rocket with the longest “hang time” in the air wins!

Families are asked to bring their own chairs and sunscreen (no pop-ups or large umbrellas please). Registration is suggested!

This musical tells the story of an ugly duckling who goes on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way, the duck meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.

Endangered Species Day

Learn about endangered marine animals through special activities designed for families. Visit the Aquatic Nursery to see how the staff is working to increase the population of  endangered white abalone, join in a scavenger hunt, listen to a special story time in our library, take a guided beach walk and more!

Museums of the Arroyo Day

Tour six history-based museums in Los Angeles and Pasadena that celebrate a diverse mix of art, architecture and culture of the Arroyo Seco area. Special exhibits and activities for children are all included.

The Gamble House, The Lummis Home, The Autry Southwest Museum, Heritage Square, Pasadena Museum of History and the L.A. Police Museum.

California Strawberry Festival

Music, games, food, arts & crafts, and more all related to strawberries. Parking information is on the festival website.

Junior Biologists

Learn about the ongoing research of our local
